The objective of the Game of the Jackal is to differentiate between listening to the jackal and listening to the giraffe, as named by Marshall Rosenberg, creator of Non-Violent Communication. The jackal's listening is the automatic and violent listening, which we often perform in our daily lives. Giraffe listening is compassionate listening, guided by empathy.
